Lagos Life not working? Fixes
The usual problems, in the order they are worth trying.
Quick answer
Stuck on “Loading your game…” or “Reconnecting to Lagos…”? Wait for the line that says “This is taking longer than usual. Your game is safe: it's saved online.”, then tap Try again, or Reload. Your life is kept on this device and online under your account, so a reload gives it back. Inside Instagram or TikTok, the game asks you to open it in a real browser — do that, and the sound comes back with it. If a price here ever disagrees with your game, the game is right.
Stuck on Loading or Reconnecting
“Loading your game…” means your save is on its way down. “Reconnecting to Lagos…” means the connection dropped while you were playing. Both usually pass in a few seconds on a decent network.
If the screen stays there, the game stops waiting quietly and tells you: “This is taking longer than usual. Your game is safe: it's saved online.” Two buttons come with that line: Try again and Reload. Try again retries the connection without reloading the page; Reload starts the whole thing over.
- 1.Wait for the message — it means the game knows it is slow, not that it has died.
- 2.Tap Try again first. It keeps the page and just reconnects.
- 3.Tap Reload if Try again does nothing. Reloading gives your life back from the copy on this device, or from the one online.
- 4.Still stuck? Log out and log back in with the same username and password.
One bar of signal on a moving bus will do this to you. So will a network that drops in and out.
Can't log in
Your life lives under an account, and Lagos Life is for players 18 and over. Login is a username — or the email you saved — plus your password. Two messages cover almost every failure.
“New here? Create an account” is not a password problem: there is no account with that name. Check the spelling first. A wrong password gets “Tap the eye icon to check what you typed.”, which is the fix more often than people admit.
- 1.Tap the eye icon and look at what you actually typed. Caps lock and phone autocorrect are the usual culprits.
- 2.If the account has an email, use “Email me a reset link” or the Forgot password? link on the login screen.
- 3.If it has no email, the game's own message says so: “This account has no email, so to reset it DM @Shalom_HeyEliy on X with your username.”
- 4.Seeing “New here? Create an account” means the username is free — spell it again before you sign up, or you will make a second account by accident.
Username rules: 3 to 20 characters, letters, numbers or underscores, no spaces. Password: at least 6 characters.
Forgot your password
The Forgot password? link asks for “Username or email”. If the account has an email on it, a reset link goes out: “If that account has an email, a reset link is on its way. It works for 1 hour. Check your spam folder too.”
Nothing after a few minutes? The game posts its own fallback: “Send any email from your account's email address to reset@lagoslife.app and we'll reply with your link.” The one-hour clock is the reason to use the link the moment you see it.
An email is the difference between a recoverable account and a lost one. The game says what it uses it for: “Only used to reset your password if you ever forget it. Without one, a lost password can't be recovered.” Add it while you still remember the password.
Looks wrong or has no sound inside Instagram or TikTok
Links opened inside Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Snapchat or LinkedIn run in that app's own mini browser, and Lagos Life does not play nicely in it. The game warns you itself: “Lagos Life plays best in your browser 📲”, with the instructions underneath — “Tap ⋯ (top right) → Open in browser, for full screen, sound and saving to your home screen.”
On an iPhone there is one more step, and the game says it too: “Using Chrome on iPhone? Open lagoslife.app in Safari first.”
- 1.Tap ⋯ in the top corner and choose Open in browser.
- 2.No ⋯ menu? Copy the link and paste it into Safari or Chrome yourself.
- 3.On iPhone, finish the job in Safari — iOS hands the page over to Safari anyway.
- 4.Both official addresses are lagoslife.app and lagoslife.eliysites.com. Anywhere else that asks for your Lagos Life password is not the game.
Slow on an old phone
Lagos Life draws a whole 3D city in a browser tab, so an older phone feels it. The wins here are all about giving the browser room.
A real browser is faster than an in-app one, and a phone with free memory is faster than one holding thirty open tabs. If the frame rate drops, close things and reload — the game reconnects to your save.
- 1.Play in Safari or Chrome, not inside a social app.
- 2.Close other tabs and apps before you play.
- 3.Reload the tab if it starts to stutter. Your progress comes back with it.
Lost progress
Your life is kept in two places: the browser you play in, and online under your account. That is why the same username and password on another device brings the same character back.
If something still went wrong, the main menu carries two rescues. “Lost your progress? 🛟” offers the last kept copy of your life, with the date it was kept and the money it had — one tap brings it back. “Signed up twice? 🔑” covers the other accident: it moves your first account's life onto the account you are using now, once you type that first account's password.
- 1.Log in with the exact username and password you used before. Same account, same life.
- 2.On the main menu, find “Lost your progress? 🛟” and bring the kept copy back.
- 3.Made a second account by mistake? Use “Signed up twice? 🔑” and the first account's password.
- 4.On a shared device, log out from the main menu when you finish.
